I did keep fiddling with the plants that lived and then this year the light bulb in my head turned on. Ok Annette, the piddle queen of the world lets really put the thinking cap on and see what you can do.
We were at Wally World and there was this little box saying here I am Annette pick me up. I did pick it up and proudly brought it home and it was colder than a booger bear but it sat in my art room's bathroom mining it's own business until it finally warmed up.
I positioned what was in the box and thought ok but you still look a little bare so went to JoAnn's and to Michaels and they had things there that fit the ticket. Now I have played and rearranged and think I still need more in the area but here is what I have done so far.
I had this young lady for years and she is faded but she fits the ticket I do believe. The mother of faeries.
Can you guess what is coming next ? Yes I made a Faerie village of sorts. A work in progress but of course that means a little more shopping. I think some more tiny little red mushrooms around would add some color.
The Faeries had to have a recreational area so they don't go bananas tending to their little world. We found this little bird house at Garden Ridge and thought tada for the Faerie village.
There you have it a tour of my new village. It is a flower bed of brick and about waist high so perfect to peek in and see what is going on. Some of the Holly Fern which is suppose to stay green in the winter covers it all and I had to hold the leaves back to photo this. So it is hidden from the green and blue dragons that go down our alley once a week. They are disguised as trash trucks. I hope you enjoy seeing the progress of it all.
Now I have been busy also with some Crazy Quilting of some little pouches using----you guessed it Faeries. They are surprise gifts and they wanted to be included with the yard faeries.
One of my first little gals I did several years ago. She is going to her new owner in a month or so.
One more Faerie her name is Sparkle and will be going to her new owner soon.
There you go and thanks for stopping by and seeing what is going on in my world today.
XOXOXO
Annette
Omgosh! Annette!! I love your fairy garden! How adorable is that?!! I'll have to find a spot to make one too- see! You have inspired me! I love all those teeny, weeny peeps and their mushroom houses! And the gal with the swing! How fun to be a fairy in your garden! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh I get carried away sometimes I am thinking oh I could decorate it for fall and for winter. No one sees it but the faeries, Eldon and I and the birds so that should work. should be fun to do for different seasons shouldn't it?
Deleteps...I adore your pouches also! The purple and lime green together- wow! love that combo!! Love your fairies! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie P, you know me an my color combos. doing one now I had to even think about but it has opposites on the color wheel and are working. oxox
DeleteOh i love your fairy village!! Wish i could see it in person-that little gnome is so cute! and i love the expression "colder than a booger bear"! Haven't heard that one before. Your fairy pouches are so pretty too. I always love reading your posts!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet, now some of the plants are growing and there is mystery now to the village, some are hidden so have to play hide and seek to find some of it. guess that adds to the mystery of it. Well I have other sayings also for when it is cold cold but colder that an booger bear says it all. lol xooxxo
DeleteI think you must be some kind of faerie yourself....who else would have thought of making a faerie village ? :-)) Absolutely delicious, pretty , girlie and sweet, LOVE this idea ! And two precious pouches , so much in the Annette spirit, gorgeous my friend. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane, it started as one little house but just kept growing, we were at a garage sale Saturday and found a tiny tiny lilly pond with two frogs so had to get it for my village. It was a for 50 cent and also got 3 more mushrooms all of this for the 50 cents. a bargain at twice the price. lol Hugs and do have a fun trip and rest and relax my dear. xo
DeleteYour faerie garden is precious. I may do a take off on that, perhaps with gnomes, if we build a new Lake house. Do I have your permission? Hoping you have a blessed day today!
ReplyDeletethanks Cheryl, I know a lot of people are doing gnomes, I saw some at Garden Ridge and they were on a motorcycle. They were pretty cute. Go for it my dear. oxxoxo
DeleteHi Annette, I. too have faeries in my garden, and at the moment they are busy building an ark, as we have had almost non-stop rain for weeks! Which has solved one riddle for me. My neighbour has had a sailing boat 'parked' in her driveway ever since we moved here (about 8 years ago). As she is close on 90 I figured she wasn't about to undertake a round the world trip, but maybe she's got a hotline to the weather gods, and knows something we don't. Anyway if the creatures round here begin walking around in pairs, I'll start getting really worried! We live on the edge of a tiny village and we are one of 3 homes in a very quiet cul-de-sac. Our gardens are all so different. I have the fairies, a mini Stonehenge, a bright red water feature and also 2 gnomes. Now one is wearing the football strip of West Ham Football Club (My DH's team) and the other Norwich City colours(my team) Our other neighbours are very scathing about our gnomes. 'Naff' is the word they use. And this from a couple who have cattle and sheep skulls attached to their fence. They also have a zombie climbing out of a grave. They reckon it keeps the Jehovah's witnesess and Mormons away. They also scrump apples from our tree. lol. Ah well,as they say in the UK, 'There's nowt so queer as folks' PS They haven't discovered the faeries yet!
ReplyDeleteOh Lesley, this is priceless. I love this story my dear lady. Yes if you see the animals two by two you might want to have a back up plan. Maybe even go to the lady and say hi ya figured you might need help to tend to all the animals. Would love to see your garden and your cute gnomes wearing your teams colors. Now the zombie ones that is priceless . I loved this story girl a good chuckle for us this morning. Have a great day and hope the zombies do their job then. xoxoox
